When should I mail my save the dates and invitations?
Save the dates should be sent out 6 to 8 months before the wedding.
Invitations should be mailed about 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding.
If you have a wedding website, it often should launch with the save the dates, about 6 to 8 months before the wedding.
How long does the process take?
After our contract is signed, initial design concepts will be emailed to you within 1 to 2 weeks. We anticipate 2 to 4 weeks for revisions. Printing can take between 2 to 3 weeks for digitally printed suites and 4 to 5 weeks for specialty print processes. We recommend you start the design process with us around 5 to 6 months before your invitation mail date (8 to 9 months if you are ordering save the dates), but we are happy to accommodate your timeline if this mark has already passed for you.
Can you work on a rushed timeline?
Yes, we will do everything we can to work with your timeline within reason. Please note that depending on timeline constraints some print processes may not be possible and some papers may not be available.
How do I determine how many invitations to order?
You should order 1 invitation per household. Therefore, if you are inviting a couple that lives together, they should receive 1 invitation. It is never a bad idea to order a few extra in case you need to add people to your guest list, and to have a few as keepsakes for yourself!
What should I do to prepare for a consultation?
At the initial meeting, please let us know roughly how many invitations you will be ordering and when you would like to mail them. We are happy to help you work out a timeline for your mailing, as well. It is helpful (but not necessary) if you have a mood board—such as a Pinterest board—the colors you will be using for your wedding, or some photos that inspire the mood and style you would like to carry through to your invitations.
What are the differences between the print processes offered?

DIGITAL PRINTING is our most common process. Digital printing appears flat and can accommodate jobs with photographs and many colors. We work with great local printers to ensure high quality in all prints.
OFFSET PRINTING appears flat, as well, but uses hand-mixed ink to apply images to paper. Usually offset is limited to 2 or 3 colors. The appearance is more exact to chosen colors and can look crisper for large washes of solid color.
LETTERPRESS pushes the design into the paper for a lovely texture. It uses hand-mixed ink and is often limited to 1 or 2 colors.
FOIL STAMPING leaves the effect of a metallic, foil sheen. It is usually limited to 1 color.
FOIL EMBOSSING is similar to foil stamping, but the stamped area is raised up and has a texture.
Should I have my invitations hand-cancelled?
Hand cancelling means taking your sealed invitations into the post office and asking a postal worker to hand stamp the envelopes instead of feeding them through the stamping machine.
We recommend hand cancelling your invitations, most especially if they are thick, delicate, include calligraphy, are mailed in clear bags, or include decorative elements on the envelopes. The postal machines that mark the stamps on envelopes often tear, crush, smudge, or otherwise deface beautiful invitations, so to avoid this they can be marked by hand by a postal worker.
If you do not already have stamps for your envelopes, bring them to the post office and ask for them to be hand-cancelled. This should cost around an additional $0.21 per envelope.
If you are using USPS stamps or custom stamps, they will need to be $0.71 stamps (unless your envelopes require even larger ounce stamps). After stamping the envelopes, you can bring them to the post office and request that they be hand-sorted (not machine-sorted).
